Hi Peeps

We just migrated odoo 15 from odoosh to on premise.

The system turns very slow after 10 seconds of Odoo service restart.

Server specs: 16 cores, 48gb Ram

any ideas is appreciated

here is my conf file

Here is what i got out of lots of research.

there are NOT default values. The conf files need to be tuned in order to for Odoo to adopt your environment.

For me with 16 Cores and 64gb Ram Dedicated (48GB allocated to Odoo VM) this is my configurations:

# This file consists of lines of the form:

# name = value
#
# (The "=" is optional.) Whitespace may be used. Comments are introduced with
# "#" anywhere on a line. The complete list of parameter names and allowed
# values can be found in the PostgreSQL documentation.
#
# The commented-out settings shown in this file represent the default values.
# Re-commenting a setting is NOT sufficient to revert it to the default value;
# you need to reload the server.
#
# This file is read on server startup and when the server receives a SIGHUP
# signal. If you edit the file on a running system, you have to SIGHUP the
# server for the changes to take effect, run "pg_ctl reload", or execute
# "SELECT pg_reload_conf()". Some parameters, which are marked below,
# require a server shutdown and restart to take effect.
#
# Any parameter can also be given as a command-line option to the server, e.g.,
# "postgres -c log_connections=on". Some parameters can be changed at run time
# with the "SET" SQL command.

# REPORTING AND LOGGING
#------------------------------------------------------------------------------

# - Where to Log -

#log_destination = 'stderr' # Valid values are combinations of
# stderr, csvlog, syslog, and eventlog,
# depending on platform. csvlog
# requires logging_collector to be on.

# This is used when logging to stderr:
#logging_collector = off # Enable capturing of stderr and csvlog
# into log files. Required to be on for
# csvlogs.
# (change requires restart)

# These are only used if logging_collector is on:
#log_directory = 'log' # directory where log files are written,
# can be absolute or relative to PGDATA
#log_filename = 'postgresql-%Y-%m-%d_%H%M%S.log' # log file name pattern,
# can include strftime() escapes
#log_file_mode = 0600 # creation mode for log files,
# begin with 0 to use octal notation
#log_truncate_on_rotation = off # If on, an existing log file with the
# same name as the new log file will be
# truncated rather than appended to.

# time-driven rotation, not on restarts
# or size-driven rotation. Default is
# off, meaning append to existing files
# in all cases.

# happen after that time. 0 disables.
#log_rotation_size = 10MB # Automatic rotation of logfiles will

The default value for limit_memory_hard is 2684354560 bytes (2.6 GB)

Yours is 824 GB.

That's the first thing I would modify, together with your high value for limit_memory_soft

You can increase the number of workers over time as you get good performance - see https://www.odoo.com/documentation/16.0/administration/install/deploy.html?highlight=workers#worker-number-calculation

Hi,

There are many factors that can affect the speed of Odoo. This includes the configured workers, limit memory, limit time etc. Please refer to the blog mentioned below to understand how to optimize Odoo for best performance.

Hope it helps

Yes thank you. i have seen that. Finally we came to the conclusion that it is not the odoo.conf issue or postgresql config issue

after having more than 20 users just logged in, it just turns very slow. Im thinking if its an nginx issue
