I have the same problem, when I install the version 7 it works perfect but with version master the following error occurs after the installation is done:

The procedure used is as follows:

Packages, tarballs and installers

    Debian packages

    Add this apt repository to your /etc/apt/sources.list file

    deb http://nightly.openerp.com/master/nightly/deb/ ./

    Then type:

    $ sudo apt-get update
    $ sudo apt-get install openerp

With version 8 is not possible to perform this procedure because in http://nightly.openerp.com/8.0/nightly/deb/ the file Packages.gz does not exist.

No. I too noticed that the given repository didn't work for trunk (if you follow the link they provide you'll see why). I tried a few times but then settled with github ... and by the way ... I like it that way. Because now I can with a help of git see what changes were done. I assume the Debian package will be available once the v8 is stable.
