Hi, 

My Setup is as follows,  

Domain: yourdomain.com purchased from GoDaddy

Website: yourdomain.odoo.com

SSL: I understand Odoo provides free certificate for www.yourdomain.com yet we paid for and certificate from GoDaddy for yourdomain.com and it is setup for the domain till the step where GoDaddy says if the website is from GoDaddy the certificate is installed automatically.

Odoo:  Databases and domain setup it is www.yourdomain.com so I am assuming the certificate is generated for both www.yourdomain.com and yourdomain.com from Odoo. 

DNS Configuration on GoDaddy:

Redirect - https://yourdomain.com forwards this to www.yourdomain.com

CNAME - www points to www.yourdomain.odoo.com

Result -  Client’s Browser address bar shows https://www.yourdomain.com and website loads with https connection. 

Issue: Godaddy SSL checker https://ssltools.godaddy.com/views/certChecker FAILS to validate yourdomain.com

Note that the IP address points to a GoDaddy default - 186.X.X.X 

SSL check SUCCEEDS in validating www.yourdomain.com and IP address points to Odoo - 35.X.X.X 

Do I need to install certificate purchased from GoDaddy on Odoo website so appreciate the feedback / help to solve the issue or correct any misconfiguration.

The response I had from GoDaddy support is that the domain should point to an IP address and not a URL. 

Q1: Do I need to change the DNS A record? Does Odoo provide Static IP?

Q2: Do I need to add Domain to odoo as yourdomain.com besides www.yourdomain.com?

I have not done this additional step as the Odoo documentation suggests adding the domain in database either with www or without www. The documentation does not suggest add both. 

Q3: Will I need to purchase the certificate for a longer duration from Odoo? Existing Free certificate from Odoo appears to be valid for 90 days.
