How do I link Individuals with Companies when importing?

Question

I am importing customer and company records from another CRM using the template provided.

I have imported a list of companies with is company = 1 and a list of staff with is company = 0 with the company name on the individual records.

My problem is linking these individual records to the corresponding companies, I thought it may do this automatically but it appears not. If I go through and delete the company name one by one and re-type it it will link to the company but this will take forever

Hello,
You have to import a column named *Parent ID* and set the parent contact/company in this column.
So, it sets the child contact under its parent contact.

You can follow these steps:
Step 1: Import list of companies with is company = 1.
Step 2: Import list of staff with is company = 0 including the parent_id or Related Company column as Creyox Technologies said.

Note: If you have many similar customer company names, you can import by Tax ID field or any unique field of res.partner model with the help of the module named "VKS Import Excel" sold on Odoo Apps: https://apps.odoo.com/apps/modules/16.0/vks_import_excel.
