Vias Institute
Vias institute is een onafhankelijk Belgisch kenniscentrum dat zich richt op het verbeteren van verkeersveiligheid, mobiliteit en algemene veiligheid. Opgericht in 1986 door de Belgische overheid als het Belgisch Instituut voor Verkeersveiligheid (BIVV), opereert Vias sinds 2016 volledig onafhankelijk.Met een team van ongeveer 120 experts, waaronder academici, ingenieurs, psychologen en juridische adviseurs, biedt Vias wetenschappelijk onderbouwde oplossingen voor zowel overheden als bedrijven. Ze zijn onder andere bekend van de BOB-campagnes tegen drinken en rijden.
Vias is actief op lokaal, nationaal en internationaal niveau en richt zich op thema’s zoals verkeersveiligheid, mobiliteit, infrastructuur, technologie en sociaal beleid. Vias Institute, anciennement Institut Belge pour la Sécurité Routière (IBSR), est la référence belge en matière de sécurité routière, de mobilité, de sécurité et de santé. Fondé en 1986 par le gouvernement belge, il est depuis 2016 totalement indépendant suite à un partenariat avec la Royal Automobile Club Belgium (RACB).Particulièrement connu auprès du public belge pour leurs campagnes de sensibilisation BOB, Vias Institute couvre une large gamme d’activités comme la certification et l’homologation du matériels de sécurité routière (casques, radars, stations de contrôle technique…), la certification et le contrôle des camions réfrigérés (ou non) et des camions citernes, les éthylotests et le contrôle des tachygraphes…
