What is changed when the language selector is switched ?

You website use the default language by default.
If you add some now language (via settings, or in the footer of the website you have a 'Add a language' link), it will load the translation when user switch on this new language.
If your website is in english by default, to change the content in french, you just need to switch the lang, and you will see the 'Edit button' will be replaced by a button 'Translate' (And a new button 'Edit master' -> to change english version)
