Hi,

In Odoo 18 I have a model like this:

class MyModel(models.Model):
    _name = 'my.model'

    question = fields.Char(string=_('Question), translate=True)
    answer = fields.Selection(string=_('Answer'), selection=[('yes', _('Yes')), ('no', _('No'))]

With predefined questions loaded via a xml file

<record id="question_1" model="my.model">
    <field name="question">Are you Odoo specialist?</field>
</record>

I would like to load questions in different languages. How to do this?

"Translation" is not a question. A question is a substantial phrase that ends with "?"

We get close to 1,000 posts a month and not everyone will open a post to find out what your question is.

I have edited your post to make the title a question.

In the future, please consider (1) using a Question that makes it clear what you ask without requiring people to open your post and (2) adding Tags. This will often increase the chances people will respond and also make everything clearer for others who may come along later searching for the same thing.

Failing that, you can paste your future posts into an AI Chatbot and ask it to "please generate a question of no more than 16 words that summarizes what I am asking" and use that as your question.

Thanks.
I know this method with .pot and .po files but I was thinking that I was directly possible to load the translations when I install my module.

The easiest is to install your module in any database and then export the translation file for that module. To do so, enable the Developer mode, then go to Settings -> Translations --> Import / Export -> Export Translation.

In the subsequent wizard choose New language for a *.pot or a language previously enabled (if it happens to be the target language of your translation efforts) for a *.po file.

I usually prefer to install the language I want to translate my modules to beforehand because this would allow to utilize already existing translations as these would be exported alongside the translation file of my modules (if a given text string happens to be available already that is).
Keep File Format and Export Type as is (PO File and Module) and select your module from Apps To Export. I want to suggest to export translations for one module at a time only so you can easily distinguish them.

Then, install Poedit (https://poedit.net/) and open the .po file, translate it and finally add it to your module into a folder named i18n (=> which stands fo "internationalization") with a file name matching the language key (for German for example this would be i18n/de.po, for Swiss German this would be i18n/de_CH.po).

Also, for the record:
Your model does not need to import _ from odoo.

class MyModel(models.Model):
    _name = 'my.model'

    question = fields.Char(string='Question, translate=True)
    answer = fields.Selection(string='Answer', selection=[('yes', 'Yes'), ('no', 'No')]

... is completely sufficient. These strings will be part of your exported translation file.

Note: Ensure your module is upgrades (Apps -> *module in question* -> Upgrade) prior to attempting to export translations!
