Hello everyone,

I hope you're all doing well.

I am currently using Odoo Community Edition on Windows 10, and I am facing an issue while configuring the SMTP outgoing mail server. When I try to test the connection, I receive the following error message (screenshot attached):

""Operation invalid 

The server returned the following exception: (535, b'5.7.8 Username and Password not accepted. For more information, go to 5.7.8 https://support.google.com/mail/?p=BadCredentials 5b1f17b1804b1-427d8fbacc8sm152192695e9.28 - gsmtp'"".


I have verified that the username and password are correct, and I have also enabled "Allow less secure apps" in my Google account settings. However, I am still unable to establish a connection.

Has anyone encountered a similar issue or can provide any guidance on how to resolve this?

Hi 

You must use App Passwords in that Google Account for Odoo and use that password as SMTP Credentials.

Go to Google Account > Security > App Password > Create App Name as Odoo and Update that Password in the Outgoing mail Server.

Hello,

I am experiencing an issue with my personal Gmail account where the option for "Apps Passwords" does not appear. I have already enabled two-step verification on my account.

Could this issue be related to the fact that my account is managed by an organization or is there a possibility that the "Application-Specific Passwords" option is only available for accounts that are not managed by an organization?

If I switch to using a Google account managed by my organization, will the "Apps Passwords" option be available there?
