I configured an outgoing mail server in Odoo Online version 18.3 using cPanel SMTP. The connection test shows “Connection successful,” but no outgoing emails are being sent. The scheduler “Mail: Email Queue Manager” is active and set to run every minute. No messages appear under Technical → Emails (Outgoing), even after sending emails from invoices or templates.

I have also:

  • Verified the SMTP credentials, port, and encryption.
  • Set the same sender email as the SMTP user.
  • Activated developer mode.
  • Checked and confirmed the mail scheduler is active.
  • Tried both SSL/TLS (465) and STARTTLS (587).

Please advise if there is any additional configuration required for Odoo Online to generate or send outgoing emails, or if domain verification is necessary in this case.

Odoo Online or odoo. sh Users

Since Odoo sets up its own mail servers for the database, outgoing and incoming emails already work out-of-the-box. So for Odoo Online and odoo.SH customers, nothing needs to be configured!

Unless an external mail server is required to send large batches of mass emails, simply use the standard online Odoo database normally since it has already been pre-configured to send email.
