Another interesting issue.

Why when I import into Inventory Adjustments/Inventory/Inventory Lines, the data that I wish to import validates but does not display.
After clicking validate to proceed, I am greeted with the following message "You cannot take products from or deliver products to a location of type "view"."

What does this mean and how do I get around it ?

Also encountering this issue, exactly as described, but Odoo 13 cloud.

For me the issue arose because I had entered the warehouse short name in the line IDs/location field. It tested fine, and imported fine, but then failed to validate or show any lines.

I should have entered the warehouse shortname/Stock, e.g. HQWH/Stock , which is a location within HQWH (which apparently is called a 'view', not a 'location').

revert to draft and then delete that inventory adjustment, chaneg the location IDs so they include /Stock (or whatever specific location you need), then reupload as a new adjustment. Now it validates and shows lines as normal.

Make sure you are importing data for an Internal Location. If you have Storage Locations enabled, you can go to Inventory > Configuration > Locations and check the Location Type of the locations you are using in your import.
