I have steps in Tasks that I would like to be checked off as they are completed.
It would help to track the progress of the Task, but I don't need to know who / when / etc - the typical things that would have me use separate Tasks.

Yes,
You can use the editor features of the HTML Widget to do this:
Type "/" for all HTML Widget commands
As the checkbox is checked, the text is marked with a strike through line. Check boxes can also be unchecked.
