If you are shipping it is possible that inventory levels are wrong or you must sub a like item, when this happens it becomes difficult with locked sales orders. I know there’s revision modules but it starts creating revision numbers that I would rather not have on printed sales orders or be viewable through customer portal.

I use him for custom development and he's damn good developer just FYI! Didn't catch that module. I'll look into that. I don't like the premise of cancel to revert but that may be my only option in Odoo... I know they have revision modules which I believe are more appropriate in keeping clean records but they start labeling documents viewable by clients which is a problem if you aren't in the negotiation stages of large scale projects, but not on a day-to-day shipment model.
