Odoo’s built-in POS receipts are designed only for small thermal printers, so they can’t properly generate full-page (8.5×11") receipts. Printing them as PDFs simply places the tiny thermal layout onto a large page. The correct solution is to add or install a custom full-page POS receipt PDF report using Odoo’s QWeb PDF engine, which creates a clean invoice-style layout without misusing the “To Invoice” workflow. Alternatively, a custom module can convert POS orders into Sales Orders so you can print sales-style receipts, or you can use an existing marketplace/OCA module that adds A4 POS receipts. Overall, the recommended approach is to create a custom full-page POS PDF receipt and avoid generating invoices just for printing.
