We are on Odoo 15 CE and the default behaviour seems to be that every time a Quotation is confirmed (and turned into a Sales Order) immediately an Invoice and Delivery Order is generated. 
The Delivery Order being generated is problematic for our scenario where we are a retail / Ecommerce store that only ever picks and ships orders after they have been paid for.


Is there any native way/setting that we are missing where we can configure Odoo 15 to only generate the Delivery Orders after the order has been paid (after the Invoice status is set to Paid).

as i said. by default no. it want be default solution. i said default odoo working way.

As others have said, this is not really handled well by standard Odoo. This app might be worth looking at, because you can create a prepayment invoice, but it would some extra customization to block order confirmation until that invoice is paid: https://apps.odoo.com/apps/modules/15.0/account_payment_advance_sale_mac5/

There is a module to generate the Invoice from the Picking but it doesn't work with Sales Order.

Maybe you can further customize the module as per your need.

Thank you for the feedback, indeed I have already understood that this is (unfortunately, and weirdly) not a native feature of Odoo and it will likely require a customization, as I have not yet found an existing 3rd party app that could achieve this.

Hello Mindaugas, I have to say it was very hard to understand what you were trying to suggest but I appreciate that you have tried to help.
I believe what you mean is going to General Settings and search on the search bar for "Invoicing Policy" (This will be under the "Sales" module tab) https://www.odoo.com/documentation/15.0/applications/sales/sales/invoicing/invoicing_policy.html
Maybe I did not do a good job at explaining the issue because it seems you have misunderstood the problem, because the solution you propose does not solve or correspond to the issue that I raised.

Your suggestion makes it that the Invoice is only created after the Delivery Order is done. What I need is the opposite, that the Delivery order is only created when the Invoice is paid. :)

Thank you for the suggestion Ray, however this does not work for our situation where we use other Ecommerce platforms (In this case Woocommerce) to manage the store, and Odoo as a backend for inventory / warehouse management

You could possibly use PoS App by enabling 'Ship Later' functionality or maybe even ecommerce App if your customers are able to create orders themselves.

make product invoicing policy-invoice ordered. after so confirmed. picking is ready. but first generate invoice after that picking.

Where can I find the "product invoicing policy" setting so that I can make it "invoice ordered" ?
I have been searching through all the settings but haven't managed to find it.

But If the invoice in "posted" state we can able to do the delivery..!

invoicing policy only determ when you can invoice post. delivery do not impact.
