Fabien Pinckaers sent \an email some time ago to the community mailing list explaining that the Sales and Purchase modules had been rewritten and were not using the workflow engine anymore.

I have been trying to find some ressources to understand how workflows were implemented in these module and they could be modified. Without much success. Could not get my head around the code.

In this specific instance, I would like to prevent the quote from being sent when created (when a client buys something on the ecommerce site for example), and would like to have the sale order to be sent instead when it is validated.

Any pointers anyone? On the subject in general and my problem in particular?
