It's been asked in the past but we're now in V16, V17 will be released soon.
HOW do you create a promo code that is ONLY available ONCE per users ?!
You see this on ALL good website : "Register and get a discount on your next order"
-> How do you do that in odoo ?!
If you set limit usage to 1, the first customer will get the discount and the rest is bye bye ....
If I set limit usage to 0 = ALL, the SAME users will be able to use the code multiple times which is Pointless !!
Do I really need to create a custom Dev for this simple marketing trick in 2023 ?!
If you have a solution, don't hesitated to share !
Or if you have the same question, please answer here so the thread goes up and we can push the idea to Odoo ;-)

Hi,
Restricting promo codes to one-time use per user isn't built-in yet, But it is possible through custom Development.

I know it's not available and that's why i find it crazy that we move to V18 without proper e-Commerce Insights & Features vs the others well known players ... We're in 2024... A Single use "Welcome Discount code" should be basic feature in eCommerce by now !

Unfortunately not .. Because you have to MANUALLY add the customer to a Customer Group.
This should be automatic & automatically send email when customer join the "welcome" group.
Customer is in a Custom Group, and it stays there forever ? no dynamic changes ?

By default, your requested feature is not available in Odoo. As mentioned earlier our custom app will do the customer grouping for Promo Code/Discount, the requested future is unique so by using our module we can do the customization and achieve according to your requirements. +1 I do have the same question. I have been trying to use coupon, but then this means I have to send email to every single new customer so that they get the coupon code.

In The End I've created a custom Dev in the "loyalty.program" called "once per customer"
Allowing me to check the option and the code will be available ONCE per customer ...
We're in 2024, Odoo is pushing V18 ... But we can't still create a Promo Code for our new customer online ... -_-
It's indeed a bit surprising that even as we approach 2024 and Odoo is working on v18, certain functionalities like creating a one-time promo code per customer online still pose challenges. For v17 promotions of marketing automation it also sounded like it was possible to do, but apparently not.
I am intrigued by your initiative and success in developing a workaround for this issue. If it's not too much trouble, I would be very grateful if you could share some insights or details on how you achieved this? I am eager to learn from your experience and, if possible, implement a similar solution in our system.
