Indeed, project stages are not available in v14.

But here is a simple idea for you:

1. Create a Project stage field in the project.project model:

2. Create an extension view of the project.project.form view and add in your custom field:

It should look like this, depending on where you want to put your field :

3. Now, you can group by project stage and drag them in the column you want:

Add a stage by default for your project if you do not want them to be in false.
