Let me first sketch the line that I want make easier.

Let's say we are selling tables, and we produce the table legs internal

After they are produced, the go to a client who paints them in different colours.

Afterwards we want to add the colored legs to the table.

What is the best way to put these in products?

For the moment we just make a BOM for the painted leg with his variants, wich has the product of the non painted leg in it.

But the thing is,

We have to produce the non painted leg, but what about the painted leg?

Do we sell the non painted leg to the firm that paints it, and afterwards  buy it back?

So under Routes, the non painted leg needs to be on 'Produce' and the painted leg as 'Buy'?

Or do we need to add something to the product, or work with variants instead of seperate products?

How do we get a manufacturing order for the non painted leg if a table with painted legs in ordered etc?
