I can see that in V9 or V10, we can import bank statements and reconcile.
but i cannot see this option in V8.
How can I do this in V8? Do I need a specific apps ?

Hi,
Import option is available in V8 also.Just click on Bank Statements you get the tree view of it ,next to create option you will find import option.
I used the import from csv with the following header:
date,"line_ids/date","line_ids/name","line_ids/amount","line_ids/Partner","line_ids/reference","journal_id","balance_start","balance_end_real"
