By creating a sales order, you can select only one warehouse (other info tab). However, by having several warehouses it's needed that when confirming a sales order, separate delivery orders are automatically created based on priorities (main warehouse first) and the availability of the products in the different warehouses.

In Odoo it's possible to create different delivery orders from a single sales order by enabling "Applicable on sales order lines" on the delivery route and removing the warehouse from applicability in the route rule.

However, this is a very time-consuming manual process where a route must be chosen for each sales order line and when the product is partially available in several WHs, the SO line must be split.

Is it possible to automate this process with configurations of routes, rules and propagations? So different delivery orders are created automatically based on product availability in the different WHs?

Thanks

Yes, it is now possible with the "Destination location origin from rule" option available V17.2 and above. This provides the option to choose the destination location defined on the operation type to the one on the rule

Modify the delivery route (WH1) to add rules (Pull from WH2/stock to WH/Stock Operation type WH2 delivery order). Do not set the destination location rule, this would ensure the destination location would be the destination location as defined on the operation type.

Do ensure to change the supply method on 1st rule (WH1 to customer) to , 'take from stock if unavailable trigger another rule'

On creation of sale where product isn't available in WH1, it would be delivered from WH2

Thanks Jaideep, I will test your solution in a future implementation, as unfortunately v17.2 is not available on Odoo.sh

Checked, it works the same in V17.0 as well.

hi Jaideep, what do you mean with works the same in V17.0? in v17 the main "rule" part is missing "The products will be moved towards Partners/Customers, as specified from Delivery Orders destination", is there a way to configure this in v17.0? Adding this information to your answer will surely turn it to the best answer!

Hi Ricardo,

In V17, you could create the additional rule to WH 1 delivery route -- Pull from WH2/Stock destination location WH/Stock with Operation - WH2 Delivery Order

When stock isn't available in WH1, an additional operation (WH 2 delivery order) would be created.

The difference would be that the WH 2 delivery order would have destination as WH/Stock as compared to V17.2 which would have it as customer location.

Notwithstanding you would still have the option to change it change it to Partner Location/Customer manually and ship directly to customer.

OR

Not change the destination location in Odoo but ship directly to customer, the picking as well as delivery slip has the ship to address that of the customer.

If the destination location is changed in the operation of WH2 to that of the customer, the operator can then cancel creation of backorder in WH1 delivery order. If destination location wasn't changed in Odoo, the 1st operation WH1 delivery operation would be updated with available qty.

Even with 17.2 the whole solution isn't comprehensive and seamless. It does require the manual intervention of canceling creation of backorder.

Moreover, since these are parallel operations (WH1 to customer and WH2 to customer) validating the WH2 delivery to customer end up creating additional sales order lines with order qty as '0'

Overall though there is the possibility to create direct deliveries from alternate WHs, I don't believe it is as straightforward for the operator and supervisors and would mandate manual intervention even with 17.2.

Not sure if even the future solution would be a fit and would helps your case.

Limitation is the consolidated delivery order (Virtual WH -> Customer), individual WHs would need to sift through all orders to identify moves specific to them.

Thanks Ray, unfortunately with this standard solution, although the "pickings" are correct, only one Delivery Slip can be generated. Or am I missing something?
