Moespom
Moespom is a family-owned business based in Moerzeke, Belgium, that has been processing potatoes since 1959. They specialize in packaging potatoes into smaller sizes for the consumer market, serving major retail clients like Lidl, Colruyt, and Spar.
The challenge
Moespom faced the challenge of managing complex business processes, including production, sales, and purchasing, all while needing to meet the specific requirements of major retail customers. A key hurdle was the need for an EDI system to handle electronic orders, delivery confirmations, and invoices with retailers such as Colruyt, Spar, and Lidl. This required a robust and integrated solution that could track products from harvesting through processing to final delivery, including lot number traceability and custom packaging assignments.

A customized Odoo system was implemented to manage Moespom’s key business flows, including production, sales, and purchases. The solution included EDI integration to automatically receive sales orders from retailers and send delivery confirmations and invoices. Custom modules were also created to handle specific requirements, such as adding packaging information to manufacturing orders and enabling lot number tracking for traceability.
The results
The implementation by dear digital has provided Moespom with a streamlined system for managing their business, supporting all key functional workflows. The system automatically updates inventory levels in real-time after each manufacturing process and stock transfer, providing accurate reports. Lot tracking from harvesting to storage is now possible, ensuring full traceability for each batch of potatoes. The EDI integration has automated communication with retailers, allowing for the electronic reception of orders and transmission of delivery confirmations and invoices.
