I have downloaded and installed virtual IoT for Odoo 17 for my client. I can access the IoT dashboard using localhost:8069. But when I try to use the ip address. It’s unreachable. Also on the POS module end, it’s shows as IoT disconnected.
Odoo is the world's easiest all-in-one management software.
It includes hundreds of business apps:
- 客户关系管理
- e-Commerce
- 会计
- 库存
- PoS
- 项目
- MRP

Hi,
To troubleshoot the Virtual IoT Box connection issues in Odoo 17, first verify that the Virtual IoT Box process is running and check its logs for errors. Confirm the correct IP address and port of the Virtual IoT Box using ipconfig or ifconfig, and ensure your firewall allows incoming connections to that port.
In Odoo, update the "IoT Box URL" in the POS configuration with the correct IP address and port, and verify that the iot module is installed and up-to-date. Restart the Odoo server after making changes. If using a virtual machine, ensure the network adapter is in bridged mode. Clear your browser's cache and disable extensions to rule out browser-related issues. If problems persist, test the connection from another machine on the network.
Hope it helps
To resolve this, install the IoT module inside Odoo first and then connected the Virtual IoT using the Offline Pairing option (available in Developer Mode).
After enabling Developer Mode:
Go to IoT App → Configuration → Offline Pairing.
Copy the offline token/code generated by Odoo.
Open the Virtual IoT dashboard (localhost:8069).
Paste the pairing code there.
Pairing completes successfully, and the IoT becomes reachable by the POS.
Hi Anni
I am unable to see the offline paring
Hello,
Is it on the same network?
i can now access the virtual IoT box using Ip address:8069 and localhost:8069. However my PoS end still shows IoT disconnected.
Both are on the same network with the same ip address.
