If I want to configure the shops separately - that is look, feel, checkout flow - I assume I need multiple websites?
If I have multiple shops via multiple websites can I somehow integrate the 3 into the same website?
Am I looking at this the wrong way?
Create the 3 websites - specify the domain that each has, so that when someone lands on your site, Odoo knows they came via "parts.mycompany.com" or "rentals.mycompany.com" etc.
For each Product, assign it to the website you want:
You may benefit from the "Extra Step Option" option on one of your websites, navigate to the page representing your cart (ie: /shop/cart) and turn this on so you have an editable page to ask questions, give visitors an opportunity to upload a photo (to make sure the part is the correct one you could offer a verification of this via a photo):
