Aga Khan Health Services Afghanistan
AKHS, Afghanistan (AKHS, A) was established in 2003 to provide primary health care and
curative medical care services to the local community through a close partnership with the
Government of Afghanistan. Today, AKHS, A is an active partner of the Ministry of Public Health
in the implementation of the Basic Package of Health Services (BPHS) in all districts of
Badakhshan and Bamyan, as well as through the Aga Khan Medical Centre, Pul-e-Khumri in
Baghlan.
They also provide the Essential Package of Hospital Services (EPHS) through two provincial
hospitals in Bamyan and Faizabad, which have been managed by AKHS, A since 2004 and 2009
