Hi,

There is no financial year and period concept from Odoo 9 onwards. You can set the financial year starting and end date. All the reports are managed using the date. Also, there is no financial year closing. You can lock the entries after auditing using lock date in account settings.

There is a module available  in Odoo apps, https://www.odoo.com/apps/modules/10.0/account_fiscal_year/

We are not sure about its working.
