Hi,

Does Odoo offer the ability to use QR codes or 2D Barcodes for Inventory / PoS / Sales / Purchases, etc?

Thanks!

Tara

Hey Tara, yeah, Odoo does support QR codes and 2D Barcodes all over inventory, PoS, sales, and purchases. What these codes do is speed things up by automating data capture. No more manual entries - seriously life-changing. But, setting it up is no walk in the park. You might run into some snags with workflows or barcode modules. Had to tinker with it myself at one point!

Cleverence can be a game-changer here. I worked on a porject wich had similar issues with manual erros. A mobile automation solution was our fix, integraitng smoothly with odoo. It's super handy that Cleverence offers low-code customization. Good stuff, especially when you're offline.

As you’re tweaking things, Cleverence's API shines fro tracking like expiry dates or batch numbers. Makes operations way smoother - honestly, improves accuracy too. It’s not always straightforward, tho, so you'll wanna tets it thoroughly to get it right!

QR codes = 2D barcodes.  To read a QR code you need a scanner that understand 2D codes.  Most scanners can do that.

For Odoo it depends on what information is in the code. A QR code can have any type of data.  If the data are according to GS1 128 standard, Odoo should be able to decode perfect when you use the Barcode App.
