Can some once point me to the subject / forum or post where there is clear demarcation of what pron and cons are of the community edition? 

Is there any feature disabled in the community version?

What are the clause of using community version for commercial purpose?

There is only ONE version (one codebase) of Odoo.  The difference is when you pay, you get services from Odoo.

Community Version:

  • You support it, you migrate it between major versions (not trivial).

Enterprise Version:

  • Odoo supports it, Odoo migrates it between major version, Odoo can customize, coach, design, import data, etc

You can use it freely for commercial purpose on your own server/pc. Only thing is the Single click module install will work only uptill 3users. Then you might have to manually install it (not at all difficult) if you have more than 3 users. Infact there is no such thing as enterprise version and it's same software. They are just asking for price if you use their servers and want support. But Odoo/OpenERP is the best ERP i have found uptill now...
