how to deactivate backorder generation

Question

We need to ship only whatÂ´s in stock, meaning that if a customer orders 25 units of product A and we have only 10 in stock, we deliver those 10 units and finish the transaction, without generating a backorder.
Is there a module or it has to be developed ?
Is this included in the new version 8 ?

Hi,
By choosing the Never option, the remaining quantities will be canceled without creating a backorder.

I'm afraid there isn't any setting or module to do so.. The traditional way is never confirm any sales order until you sure about the quantity that available for the transaction..This will prevent OpenERP to automatically create delivery order.. Just keep it at draft, so you can edit and confirm the SO any time you like...
