I am trying to find ways to alter the quantity of "Products to consume" /or/ "Consumed products" in the MO. However, the system only allow me to either "consume" or "scrap" each product that was previously set up in Bill of Material. Any suggestion how to make this happen in order to reflect the actual material used in manufacturing environment? Thank you.

Here, there are the revision of Openerp that I have set up. OS Ubuntu 12.04 Desktop LTS; server v.7 rev.5065; addons v.7 rev.9415; web v.7 rev.4025;

What about "Raw Material change in MO" at https://apps.openerp.com/apps/7.0/mrp_change_rm/

The module allows you to:

  • Add new products to consume in a confirmed MO.
  • Cancel products to consume in a confirmed MO.

I am interested in this too. It is possible to add work order to manufacturing order, after MO has started. Something similar for consumed products would be great.

I found workaround.

  1. Generate MO with dummy BOM (consumes air :) ) at production start.
  2. Generate additional MO with BOM with actually consumed items.
  3. Generate third MO that will consume "products" from 1) and 2)

    3.1. Alternatively, quantities in 1) and 2) could be eg. 0.5 each (0.5+0.5=1)

It is PITA to have so many "products" and MO's but can be used and warehouse is updated correctly.

@Saša: Thanks for your kind answer and addtional comments provided above. The solution suggested by kindiss to add the button to form view is quite close to what we are looking for. However, "name="380" in his finding doen't seem to work with the latest branch, since it lead to different view outside the MRP module. Let us wait for an expert to show us the correct solution then.

I am trying to post link to this thread to other similar threads (all the above) and ask them to make a vote for this, so we might get help sooner.

Maybe we could log at http://feedback.openerp.com ?

Also, I might arrange development of such feature, if more people would be willing to share the cost. :)

I think such feature that's allow users to edit or capture the actual consumed quantity, rather than strictly link with the quantity defined in BOM should be existed as "standard" if we really want to implement this in practical world.

To find out what is action ID "name="380" you can in developer mode got to confirmed state manufacturing order, move your mouse cursor on (Update), here you can see table with line Action ID:385, in my case now is 385, this number you need to enter.
