Every organization has physical assets that they must keep track of and perform maintenance on. These items can be as small as a company-issued cell phone or as large as a commercial piece of construction equipment. No matter the size or value, tracking and reporting on ownership and usage is critical to protecting organizational assets.
This talk is ideal for anyone that is interested in establishing asset tracking within their organization as well as those that already manage this process but are looking for a more streamlined and integrated approach. During this talk, we will be using the Maintenance application in a live-demo format. We will start with an overview of the stock functionality, including equipment and maintenance requests. From there, we will dive into custom, open-sourced modules that Hibou has developed to extend the Maintenance functionality in order to provide robust accounting, inventory and reporting features. These modules include the following features:
- Generate a log of equipment changes in ownership and usage over time, which can then be used for reporting.
- Record purchases related to equipment, which are then logged and can be used for reporting.
- Use timesheets to record time spent on maintenance requests (can be used in conjunction with analytic accounting).
- Add parts to maintenance requests and consume the inventory once used (can be used in conjunction with analytic accounting).
- Record details related to the purchase of the piece of equipment, such as purchase date and condition.
After a brief review of the extended functionality the modules provide, we’ll wrap up with a walkthrough of a few real-life scenarios.
Documentation on all of the modules we will cover can be found here: https://hibou.io/docs/hibou-odoo-suite-1/maintenance-24
