The product web page shows all product variants so that they can be selected. However, I would like to hide some of them on the product page, without the need to archive them because I need to continue operating with all product variants.

Are on premise, .sh or odoo online?
if you aren't in the "online" version, there are modules that do just that, i.e. hide variants from webshop.
