Separate email server being used.


Hello Odoo Gurus of the world.

I have a interesting issue, to see if you guys can chime in with some ideas.

My Helpdesk works fine, any email you send to its email address gets turned into a ticket.

I needed some clients to fill in some data, so i went to the Website, created a new Page added a Form with the fields needed, had it sent via email to the helpdesk email address. 
This way i just needed to send my customers the URL for the webpage and have them fill the form, ticket gets created, i get the info and close the ticket. Sounded simple.

Well the oddest thing happened. 

The FIRST and only form i sent, got turned into a Ticket on the Helpdesk module as expected, any other following response/submissions from the form will arrive at the email box, be read by Odoo in the email box, (as i can see them via webmail client come in and after the scheduled fetcher runs they turn into read emails.) 
But the Helpdesk will not create a ticket, it just ignores them.

If i send any other email to the helpdesk address they get read and a ticket gets created as expected
… except the ones coming from the form. ( i tried creating new forms without luck)

I’m an Odoo newbie , i’m not sure why this happened. Why would it be ignoring the emails from the form, they are marked with different subject, different FROM address, etc…

Any ideas suggestions or thoughts are greatly appreciated.

wow.. how did you get that option there. It seems I'm missing it.

Did miss enabling something?

Maybe setting action to Create a Ticket rather than Send an email on the form creates tickets? 



While this is not a solution to why emails aren't creating new tickets, could help to isolate the issue. Also, would you know if the subsequent form submission emails appends the chatter of the 1st created ticket?

On the helpdesk team settings there is an option to enable Website Form under the channels section. Do check if that is enabled.
