Is there a way to stagger/delay all of the updates made on tables for a new stored compute field? I had the need to store a previous compute field, but after setting the store the odoo instance crashes it seems from having to update way to many records.

Is this possible with Odoo or what are better practices to be able to update some model with a new stored compute field that has many records already in the db?
