Is there any chance I can create automated action to pass uploaded file into the record to the record in different app? Tried with record.field_name but seems that method is not working for file field.
So basically, user uploading file to record, then press "Save". On record creation, I want this file to be also uploaded into the record in res.partner.

Yes, you can, we did something similar. I can't tell you how because I can't check it right now, that is why this is a comment.
