Hello Team,

Am new to Odoo, how do I sell an item that has different Unit of Measure in POS community edition.

It seems not to have an option on the POS. I have already configured at the inventory

Thanks Paresh,

I think its the caveat affecting me, is there a way to go around it as I want to choose UoM at the time of Sale.

The only workaround is to use the Sales module to book the Order.

Hi Pauline:

You will need to activate the Inventory app and enable the Units of Measure setting in Inventory > Configuration > Settings. This will allow you to use different UoMs. Then go to Point of Sale > Products > Products and set the Unit of Measure for the Products to the one you want to use in the POS. This will allow you to use this UoM in the POS and a different UoM via the Quotation/Sales Order.

A caveat though, you cannot select a UoM within the POS at the time of Sale. The ability to select the UoM at the time of Sales is available only in the Quotation/Sales Order form. The POS will always use the UoM specified in the Product template (i.e. Product master)

NOTE: The setting is also available in the Sales app if you do not want to install Inventory
