  • New version of the posbox image

    Dear point of sale users,

    We have published a new version of the image of the PosBox for the point of sale module.

    While this change should have no visible effect on the user, the change is important on the technical side (long story short: running on python 3 instead of python 2).

    Before shipping this upgrade to production, we have published the new version (now 17) in beta and we would love if some of you could flash it on a raspberry pi and test it on a point of sale.

    and flash the micro sd card with a tool like etcher.

  • Nibbana released - new free app for GTD project and task management!
    Hi dear Community!
    I would like to share with you an application that I have created for myself to manage
    personal projects and tasks using GTD methodology.


    The app is free.

    Probably I am a "fallen in love author of the app" but I think it's a must have app for every Odoo installation :-)

    Odoo's project module is used to do customer projects, to bill time, sign contracts etc.
    So it's formal for organization.

    So Nibbana is not connected (yet) to existing project module (I am thinking how to do it in a right way)

    Nibbana on the contrary is a private (personal) projects and tasks manager.

    According to GTD you have to load off your head all issues you worry about.
    So I don't think it's a good idea to put into Odoo's project module :-)

    The development is still in process as I plan to release some Nibbana addons, like addon for team collaboration, Toggl integration, Wunderlist export, integration with CRM/Project modules, etc. 

    Also some more features are expected to come like daily reports and reviews, productivity karma, procrastination alarms and more fun :-D

    I am open for any suggestions regarding Nibbana's features.
    I really want to beat all non-Odoo GTD applications :-)

  • Deploy & Test Community Apps: Odoo.sh
    Hello,

    We just released a new feature that allows to deploy community apps easily on odoo.sh:
    More specifically:
    • It copies the selected module as well as all the dependencies in your repo
    • You can install on an existing project, or a new one
    • If you select an existing project, it creates a new branch based on the master/production branch
    • Automated tests are performed on the community modules to check if it builds successfully or not
    • Once you have tested the app you can merge in your staging/production branch with drag & drop
    You can still use the submodule feature of Odoo.sh that ease the update afterwards.


    Next Step: build & test all community apps to check if it installs successfully before testing.

  • [Announcement] New family of GDPR-modules

    The new GDPR-regulation will soon begin to apply for a lot of our customers. We are therefore announcing a new family of GDPR modules that will make life easier to be GDPR complient.
    The modules are based on a personal data inventory, added rules for removing old data, a database for consent and website pages for GDPR information and a personal data portal.

    * Inventory of personal data and processing
    * Rules for automatic deletions
    * Website information
    * Consent database
    * Personal portal, displaying what personal data that is stored in your system, administration of consents

    For each type of personal data you identifies and have described in terms of domains and other rules, you can list res.partnes that are affected and in the partner form you can list personal data objects connected to that res.partner.

    However, each subarea in Odoo will need some GDPR love in the form of new modules. Therefore, we are calling interested participants for additional features, comments and ideas. Gdpr_mass_mailing module are an example of added GDPR features for the mass_mailing-module.

    Some notes:

    The module gdpr_inventory depends on attachment_notebook https://www.odoo.com/apps/modules/8.0/attachment_notebook/
    and the module website_gdpr depends on website_document_metadata https://www.odoo.com/apps/modules/8.0/website_document_metadata/

    At this time we have only a 8.0 version (most of our customers are still using 8.0) but we are working with a 10.0 verstion too (none are using 9.0 and 11.0 are still considered to early).
