Hi, I'm trying to get my head around Odoo. I'm currently testing out a DB with the Manufacturing and Inventory modules.

I have set up a few products, BOMs, Workcenters, MOs. My top level product consumes a subassembly product which is also manufactured in house and for which I have an MO.

When I create an MO for the top level product, is it possible to automatically create MOs for all dependent products that can be manufacutred in house rather than having to go into the top level MO, check the Reserved quantities and issue MOs for the subassemblies/parts that can be manufactured locally but are not in stock?

Hi,

Yes, in odoo it is possible to trigger manufacturing order from another manufacturing order that is called the child mo or the multi level bom.

For achieving this first we want to create the multiple bom one for the main product and another for the component we want to trigger the mo.

And then go to the Inventory module Configuration -> Settings -> Enable the multi step route.

Next we want to move to the routes in configuration settings and filter it by archived , we can see here Replenish On Order (MTO) unarchive that.

Then go to the product we want to trigger child MO , Inventory tab we can see the Routes Replenish on Order (MTO) and Manufacture enable these two. Then create manufacturing order and add components as the product that triggers the child mo .
