Say I have good understanding in Object-oriented programming and with other languages such as Java, PHP, C, C++. But I do understand Python code, but not an expert when writing Python code.

You will have to learn Python anyway, while it is one of the main requirements to work professionally with it. The fact that you know other technologies is good, although you will need both frontend and backend here, if you plan to master Odoo perfectly. But anyway you can learn Odoo from the official Odoo website, where there are lots of free and paid courses.
