I have the dynamic variant year and value 2015.
I have a product T-short
V variant Size with values L and XL.
I create a purchase order and select the product and value that I wish to order and confirm the order. So far so good.
When I later add value XXL, the other values are being archived automatically. When I try to place a next order only the T-Shirt with size XXL can be ordered.
How can this be prevented?
Odoo automatically archives/unlinks all product variants, when a new attribute or attribute value is added, for whatever reason (I will never understand it).
There is an easy fix for that, if you know what you are doing:

Hi, no we have not solved it. In the meantime, we abandoned Odoo as part of the project we were working on.
Nevertheless, if you stumble on a solution I'll be happy to hear from you.
