I deleted an x_studio_machine field and now I get an error when trying to access studio.

the error is :

 File "/home/odoo/src/odoo/saas-17.1/odoo/addons/base/models/ir_ui_view.py", line 694, in _raise_view_error
    raise err from from_exception
ValueError: L'élément '' ne peut être localisé dans la vue parente

How can I solve this problem ?

The error you are encountering could be due to a view that is based on a field that you deleted. To resolve this issue, you have a couple of options:

  1. Delete the error-causing view: You can go to Settings > Technical > Views in your Odoo instance and search for the view that is causing the error. Once you identify the problematic view, you can delete it. However, keep in mind that deleting the view might affect the functionality of your application, so make sure to review the consequences before taking this step.
  2. Customize the view architecture: Alternatively, you can customize the architecture of the view to remove the reference to the deleted field. This typically involves modifying the XML code of the view to remove or replace the references to the deleted field. You can access the XML view definition from the Odoo interface or through the file system if you're using custom modules.

Before making any changes, it's important to analyze the impact on your system and consider the implications for other views or modules that might be affected. Additionally, you may want to test any modifications in a development environment before applying them to your production environment to ensure they work as expected.

I try to create the field x_studio_machine but I have the error message :

The field "x_studio_machine" doesn't exist in the model "helpdesk.ticket"


Finally the solution was very simple :

it was just enough to destroy the view

Hello Gilbert,

lets assume that you have this field "machine" before

After that, you delete it using the studio by clicking "Remove From View"

Now you are unable to access the studio because it could be other fields relying on that fields which is no longer exist. my suggestion is would be manually accessing debug mode and go to Settings > Views > Type in search bar "Studio" and see what view you are editing. from there, try to restore the deleted field back using xpath with this example :

 

   

 

im not really sure what view you are customizing, but the step should work the same way
