I have products on display in a shop and was wondering what is the best way to handle this in Odoo. Lets say I purchase 5 tables. I use one table for display in the shop. I have 4 for Sale. The display table should not be sold. 

Maybe the following year I can sell the display table for discount price. I'm thinking multiple warehouse or multiple stock locations but I need a correct solution.

Hello @jay Roy

I would Suggest you to go with Multiple warehouse.

Lets have an Example i.e 

First enable the Multi warehouse from Inventory->Configuration->Setting->Enable the Multiwarehouse

Now, Your having 5 tables, and You assigned 4 quantities in Warehouse-1 and 1 quantity in warehouse-2

Now you received an Order of 5 quantity.

creating an sale order and click on Other information-> Select the warehouse-1. so it will use the warehouse-1 quantity only i.e 4 product. Remainining 1 quantity will be in Backorder. it will not use the warehouse-2 product in sale order.


Else If you use an multi stock location in Location-1 there is 4 qunatity and in Location-2 there is an 1 quantity. You recevied an order of 5 quantity it will use the product from both the location i.e location-1 and location-2. So it would be better if you use the Multi warehouse.
