PostgreSQL 101 tutorial

Question

I'm new to Odoo and would like to have access to the database.
I tried installing PostgreSQL w/o much luck.
I just need to run basic SQL commands to better understand the database.
Inquiry only.
Any suggestions, perhaps simpler tool?

It is better to use the Database Structure Menu
In Developer Model, navigate to* Settings --> Technical *
Up to 35% of the Fields in Odoo are not stored in PostgreSQL
