Odoo offers a solid foundation for SEO, but in practice, we’ve seen several technical limitations that can affect organic performance — especially for larger or multilingual websites and e-commerce stores.
Some areas where improvement is often needed:
-
Canonical URL management – Odoo sometimes fails to prevent duplicate URLs caused by filters, pagination, and parameters.
-
Internal linking – Heavy use of dynamic parameters in internal links can weaken link equity and make canonical tags less effective.
-
Metadata coverage – Out-of-the-box, many product or blog pages lack well-structured meta titles, descriptions, or ALT tags.
-
Multilingual SEO – Managing consistent SEO metadata across languages requires manual effort and can be error-prone.
To solve this in our projects, we’ve developed two tools that improve both content quality and metadata management:
-
Website SEO Helper (AI-Powered) – for managing page-level SEO across multiple languages, including AI-generated meta tags and headings.
-
Product SEO Helper (AI-Powered) – for improving SEO on product pages: titles, descriptions, keywords, and image ALT texts.
These don’t replace technical solutions like custom canonical rules or optimized routing, but they significantly improve SEO readiness and consistency, especially on content-rich websites.
We’ve seen positive ranking improvements after migrating to Odoo when these areas are addressed properly.
Happy to share benchmarks or configurations if helpful.
