This is Sajith from Samsons Group of Companies. We are implementing Odoo through Al Jawad team. 


We noted that on using the "Unbuild Orders" option in the Manufacturing Module to reverse an MO wrongly posted, the stock moves are getting reversed, however, our concern is that the AVCO of the items are not getting affected correctly.

To illustrate: 

In case 1 --say if we posted the correct MO what would have been the AVCO and in case 2 --We posted a wrong MO, unbuild the MO and posted the correct MO and the derived AVCO. 


The AVCO in both these cases are different and hence we noticed that using the Unbuild MOs Option disrupts AVCO calculations in the system. 

Can you suggest any other options / workaround the same?

When using "Unbuild Orders" in Odoo's Manufacturing module, the Average Cost (AVCO) of items may not be correctly adjusted, leading to discrepancies compared to posting the correct MO initially. This is due to the timing of AVCO calculations, the impact of other inventory transactions, rounding errors, and potential issues with Odoo's valuation layers or unbuild process.

To address this, you can manually adjust the AVCO by running an Inventory Valuation Report, analyzing the AVCO, and creating an inventory adjustment. Alternatively, use a landed cost (if applicable) or develop a custom module for automated AVCO correction. In complex cases, reversing the unbuild and doing a manual adjustment might be necessary, but it's risky. Always back up your database, test in a staging environment, consult with an accountant, and document adjustments. If you suspect a bug, contact Odoo support.
