One of our first sales orders is requiring multiple deliveries. (We manufacture large plastic parts - these are essentially LTL deliveries). Example: See below. The order is for effectively 29 of the same part. I put 4 on one line item because we shipped these before we even had the software going. Then we shipped 5 more. So I put the 4 and the 5 on one delivery and entered it in. As I remember, this prompted me for a backorder and I said yes. Since then, I haven't been able to deliver more against this SO. We shipped 7 more today and when I click the delivery icon at the top and enter in the delivery, 1. it has me type the part number in (which seems weird since I should only be able to deliver the part numbers on the SO) and 2. it doesn't apply those 7 to the sales order. The sales order looks exactly like it does below, but I have shipped 7 against it.
I figured that I should also show a backorder since it asked me to do one, but I don't know what this looks like.
Also, when I do this delivery and it doesn't adjust the quantities on the SO, the only way to rectify that appears to be to "return" those. So in my Moves table for this inventory record, there are a bunch of transactions that I have tried and reversed.
Can anyone help? This seemingly simple transaction is very frustrating.
I will need to do a total of four deliveries for this SO, ultimately.
