Missing Content after migration to new Server

Question

I migrated my working odoo to a new server by "just" copying the odoo directory to the new machine (and of course installing the dependencies). As far as I can tell, everything is working fine and I get now errors in the log file. Unfortunately some of the static content is not loading.

The relevant files are actually there - why aren't they loaded?

it is possible that you don't copy the filestore directory.
On your post, I can't view what is your version, but on v8 If you running odoo and you have the home set to /opt/odoo , then default filestore location is: /opt/odoo/.local/share/Odoo/filestore/database_name. This directory can be defined on conf file with the data_dir parameter.
I recommended to you make a copy of your database with the database tool (http://localhost:8069/web/database/manager) and import the database on the new
