I am phasing some issues to track the unused metal sheet from the Manufacturing process

ex. I have a metal sheet standard size which is an 8x4 foot sheet in size dimension while purchasing from a vendor and I want to keep that metal sheet in Unit as Purchase UoM 

and in one of the finished products BoM, I want to use 2x2 foot of metal pieces from the 8x4 foot, after using the 2x2 foot in the MRP how should I track the remaining 3/4th of the metal sheet in inventory and reuse that remaining sheet which can be used for other MRP

Kindly help me out for the solution

If you are using a 2x2 foot piece from a 8x4 foot sheet, the correct consumption factor would be:

Consumption Factor=Area of Used SheetArea of Full Sheet=2×28×4=432=18Consumption Factor=Area of Full SheetArea of Used Sheet​=8×42×2​=324​=81​

So, the correct consumption factor is 1/8​, not 1/4

Hello bro I have just shared an example scenario and thank you for the calculation part but could you please elaborate on the feasibility of Odoo working on my query? I need to track the remaining piece of sheet and reuse it for the next MRP and not Purchase a new one.

You would need to track using lot numbers, assign a lot for each sheet and on consumption the remaining qty can be identified.

Hope your UoM is set in sq feet
