I have encountered a strange issue in Odoo 10 enterprise. I have two bank Journals with independent sequences. After doing an internal transfer, the generated Journal entries have used the same name. Lets say Bank 1 has sequence BNK1 and Bank 2 has sequence BNK2. Normally, when I do a transfer, the entry posted in Bank 1 journal has something like BNK1/2025/0001 then Bank 2 will have something like BNK2/2025/0063 depending on where the next number in their respective sequences was. However, this time, both the JEs generated have the same code: BNK1/2025/0001 in both journals. Essentially, if I search for BNK/2025/0001, I find two entries: One in Bank 1 Journal and the other in Bank 2 Journal. The debits and credits are made in the correct account but I'm worried about whether the numbers would have any effect. What should I do?
Odoo is the world's easiest all-in-one management software.
It includes hundreds of business apps:
- CRM
- e-Commerce
- Comptabilitat
- Inventari

Odoo 10, so it's been working for 8 years and all of a sudden it would be different..? Are you really sure there is no configuration change or you've done thing just differently?
That is exactly what I'm trying to say. No configuration has changed. All the journals have the sequences originally assigned to them, no number has skipped and what's more, the user who normally posts these entries does not have access to configuration settings. That is why this is a strange behaviour. All the entries before and after this specific one has picked the correct sequence numbers
