The odoo sales staff told me that the default currency is chosen based on the browsers geolocation - so no obvious 'choose your language' dropdown on the top menu bar. I have not been able to verify this though and have not found out how or where the mapping between location and language to select is established. I am hoping that the v8 release might make things like this a lot clearer.
