I try to import an exported 6.1.1 products csv file to 7.0 . The validation error I get is: "unsupported format character 'B' (0x42) at index 39"
I do not see this in my file. How can I solve this?

The problem is with % characters in your csv.
There is a field Company in the importdata. It is in all the import lines. So the error which indicateds there is something wrong with index 39 is not correct I think. The data in this field company_id start with the character "B". I think this is not recognized and this gives this error. It is not recognized because I try to import in a fresh database. In this fresh database the Company name is "Your Company" and the company starting with the character "B" doesn't exist.
I changed "Your Company" in the Company name starting with a "B". No result. I changed the import field in "External ID" No result.
